How old are you now?

A girl never tells her age but I can tell you how I celebrated!  For the second time this week, I ventured over to Cambridge, this time with friends in tow.  We bopped next door to Bukowski's for a cold pint while we waited for our table.  With an incredible beer selection, cool murals on the wall, it was the perfect spot for a bday brew...

M'mmm, tastes like toffee.

Once our table was ready we headed over to East Coast Grill where we feasted on amazing stick-to-your-bones BBQ.   It had gotten rave reviews online and from friends and it did not disappoint...

Their other specialty is seafood.  Next visit.

We started with fried plantains that were more plantain than fried = excellent and then I got the pulled pork platter that couldn't have been more tender and flavorful.  Came with all the fixin's too...

Who'da thunk banana-guava ketchup would be so good?

He made me smile.

There is one way to my heart and that's cornbread.

Had an ice cream sundae complete with candle and singing upon delivery not been ordered while I was in the ladies room (rookie mistake) we would have gone next door to Christina's, an ice cream spot I've been wanting to try.  It would have been hard to top the mango ice cream with carmelized bananas and real whipped cream we devoured...

Happy birthday to me.

1369 Coffee House.

On the recommendation of a friend, I crossed the river to Cambridge and checked out the 1369 Coffee House after work today...

Pretty, sunshine-y afternoon.

Whooo whooo.

Inside was a blend of eclectic meets cozy.  Trying to be good, I stuck to my original game plan of  a caffeinated beverage only.  That does not mean I didn't nearly lose the inner battle to their tempting baked goods...

Decisions, decisions.

In the end I got the Iced Vietnamese Coffee which is a "rich combination of dark roast and sweetened condensed milk".  As good as it was I'm really looking forward to trying some of their hot drinks come cooler weather...

Happy hump day.

Oh, and if you go, it's cash only.  Not to fret, there is a Citizen's Bank down the block...that's what I 'heard' anyway.
